The muffling provides the perfect sound that every modern rock or funk drummer is looking for.

It's still a pretty booming drumhead, but in a live concert situation, the sound it puts out is ideal. In a studio, additional muffling is still required, but even with a pillow in the drum, it sounds better than any other bass drum head I've ever heard. My best friend owns an Evans EMAD, which he and others claim is the best bass head ever.

I am here to say that this beats the EMAD hands down.
