Making it even more flexible is the fact that the Launchkey Mini 25 is class-compliant – that is, it's compatible with all common music apps for iPad and iPhone, while its MIDI connection ports can also be used to receive data from hardware synthesizers.
The Novation Components software makes it possible to create user-defined mappings for flexible settings, which can be stored in the controller's internal memory and loaded easily using the keyboard. The Novation Launchkey 25 Mini MK4 is the fourth generation of the British synth manufacturer's successful compact controller.
As always, it can be seamlessly integrated into all widely used DAWs to enable an authentic, hardware-controlled workflow. In its highly compact housing, this affordable controller packs a keyboard with 25 keys, 16 drum pads, eight encoders, and an arpeggiator, with additonal controls for playback and plugin parameters.
Producers can also connect the Launchkey 25 Mini to an iPad or iPhone for intuitive manual control – in addition, the controller can also send MIDI data to external synthesizers or drum computers via the corresponding ports on its rear side.

“The inclusion of educational content is always a plus for me, and it’s a boon for newer producers wanting to pick up this appropriately priced MIDI keyboard. “Otherwise, the guts and the intelligence inside the controllers are the same throughout the range, as is the single MIDI output on the back and the smart, plastic but solid feel. The only missing feature is any form of aftertouch on the keyboards; however, you will find polyphonic aftertouch on the velocity‑sensitive and brightly lit pads. The full range. To give you an idea of the relative sizes, the Launchkey Mini 25 measures 338.5 x 176.8 x 49mm, while the Launchkey 61’s dimensions are 895 x 263.5 x93mm. “I already owned the previous version LaunchKey Mini 25-key but two key features had me ordering the MK4 as soon as I saw the first reviews come out. I'm not a very good keyboard player and the scale and chord tools are extremely helpful for me.
