Orange Rocker 15 Terror – 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head with Natural/Dirty Channels, Attenuator & FX Loop

What I like: * A nice range of sounds from crisp cleans to quite high gain * The way it reacts to my playing * The ability to dial it down to 0.
5 watt * The effectsloop * It takes gain pedals quite nicely * The simplicity of the interface What I don't like: * The channel switching footswitch is a separate product not provided with the amp * I think the highs of the dirty channel could be a bit more focused (is almost a non issue, but I thought I should mention it) * There is a switch between half and full wattage on the front, however the switch between the "headroom" and "bedroom" settings is at the back.
The amp is loud, and I do mean LOUD. The headroom/bedroom switch as well as half/full power work wonders for this. I am yet to be able to take it off the headroom mode for either practice or live as it gets plenty loud. I find that even in 1W mode it is loud enough to hold its own with my small drum kit.
It does have fx loop which is great for delays/looping. So this is not your amp if you are looking for a very sharp, fast pick attack or a sound that? s more pronounced at high mids. Think of this amp more as Black Sabbath / Gary Moore vs Van Halen / Iron Maiden.

“If you swear by amp overdrive plus pedal supplements, I would dare say the Orange is a better avenue for this co-existence compared to Marshall & Vox, in Brit-voice territory, of course. Last but not least, clean tones are simply there. Bland, to say the least, due to the absence of EQ access but it holds something for those of us using multi-FX units. It’s actually one of the best flat response voicing to slave for external effects but then again, we don’t pay good money for the Rocker 15 Terror for this intention.”Read full review →
“So, why would I sell such a gem? It absolutely SUCKED when dialed in clean. Regardless, it had almost no headroom. I'm also a pedal-whore and the TT has no FX loop, something I've decided is necessary for my stomp-box lust. The Rocker 15 Terror adresses all of that.”Read full review →
