“However, what I realised is that I don't mind the chipping because I much prefer the brighter remo sound. By the time loads of the coating has chipped off it is time to change the head anyway because it has started to stretch slightly in the middle. If you are a hard hitter, and don't want a darker snare sound, go for the Remo CS coated head- it is basically one of these with a black spot stuck underneath which stops the stretching and more than doubled the life I got from a head when I was in my 'rock' phase, with only a marginal difference if feel.”Read full review →
