Batter Head Size: 16", Emperor series, White, roughened batter head, Double ply, With few overtones, For rock, hard rock, heavy Like all Remo heads in my experience, it needs a couple of days to settle in. I cranked it as tight as I could and left it, and after that managed to get the exact sound I wanted.
If durability, warmth, tone and decent attack are the sound you're looking for, I highly recommend the coated Emperor. I used to use coated emperors for pretty much everything! But I've come to accept that they just aren't suitable for live playing. They don't have the same durability and reliability of tuning as some of the competitor's products, particularly in the Evans line.
Really love the emperor coated batter heads.
